VCore Courses

Brief Introduction to China

This course is for international students. With the theme of China's natural and cultural conditions, Chinese politics, Chinese economy and Chinese society, the students can understand the management and cultural characteristics of China from ancient times to modern times in a comprehensive and systematic way.

Advanced Mathematics

This is an important and basic course in such subjects as computer, economy, tourism, files and so on. It mainly introduces basic concepts and basic methods in calculus of functions with one and one too many variables, probability, matrix analysis, linear equations and so on. It is beneficial to students in developing and improving their ability of creative thinking.

Chinese Language

The course is for abroad students. With the study, the students can listen to Mandarin tones, understand the teachers' slower Mandarin explanation, have the preliminary ability to guess the word, understand the specific context of simple conversation in daily life such as meeting, presentation, or shopping, and understand the speaker's main purpose.

Programming in C Language

C is a general-purpose programming language. It is widely used both in system programming and major application programs in many different domains. This course introduces the basic of computer programming, the basic concept and programming skills of C language, etc. Students will be expected to design, implement, and debug programs in C language.

Data Structure and Algorithm

The course introduces arrays, linked lists, trees and graphs, stacks and queues, symbol tables, priority queues, balanced trees, sorting algorithms and complexity analysis.

Principles of Computer Architecture

This course introduces the work principle, logic implementation, design method and assembly method of computer components. It cultivates students' ability to analyse, develop and design the computer hardware system.

Principles of Database System

This course introduces the student to the design, use, and application of database management systems. Topics include the relational data model, relational query languages, design theory, and conceptual data design and modeling for relational database design. Students will be expected to design and implement database system applications.

Principles of Operating System

The course introduces operating system structures, process and thread, CPU scheduling, process synchronization, deadlocks, memory management, file systems, I/O systems and device driver, mass-storage structure and disk scheduling and case studies.

Computer Networks

The course introduces network structure & architecture, reference models, stop and wait protocol, sliding window protocols, character and bit oriented protocols, virtual circuits and data grams, routing, flow control, congestion control, local area networks, issues and principles of network interconnection, transport protocols and application layer, and examples of network protocols.

Software Engineering

This course mainly teaches software requirement and design, software testing and maintenance, software configuration management and project management, software quality, and the related tools and methods. It can also train students' ability of global thinking.
