In order to help the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members and the international students further in understanding Xi Jinping’s thoughts of socialism with Chinese characteristics, deeply experiencing the Two Centenary Goals and China’s targeted poverty alleviation, and strengthening the Party members’ belief in achieving the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenations of the Chinese nation, from October 29 to October 30, 2018, the Party members of the Party Branch directly under School of International Education (SIE), together with 6 international students from countries in Asia, Europe and Africa, came to Haicheng Primary School, the poverty alleviation spot of SIE to support the education, and visited the achievements and the results of SIE’s poverty alleviation work. Leaders and teachers of SIE stationed in the village for poverty alleviation as well as the officials of Haicheng  Village attended the education-supporting activities.

First of all, the Party members and the international students arrived at Haicheng  Primary School. In the library donated by our University, they offered a cultural and entertainment class combining knowledge and attractiveness to the students of Grade 6, mainly including: using humorous and fluent Chinese to introduce features and customs of respective countries, teaching the students to extend greetings to each other in Portuguese, French and English, and singing English songs meanwhile playing games. The library was in a warm and festive atmosphere and the pupils were active participants. During the two classes, they built up inseparable relationship with the international students. The pupils showed their affection for the international students by holding hands, asking when they would meet again in their eager eyes. Students all said that they would study hard and learn foreign languages well so as to become a backbone for the development of the country in the future.

After the education-supporting activities, the Party members and the international students came to the Village Committee for discussion and visit. Leaders stationed in the village for poverty alleviation introduced the policies of targeted poverty alleviation of China , the progress and the main achievements of the poverty alleviation of the University, etc.

The two-day visit and communication facilitated the Party members' deeper recognition on the resolution of the whole country striving for a comfortable life under the guidance of the targeted poverty alleviation of the Central Government. The international students also felt that under the leadership of the CCP, all Chinese people had the determination of making concerted efforts and having one mind of achieving comfortable life. They were also moved by these leaders’ determinations and hardworking spirit of fighting for all but having to neglect their own families. They expressed their willingness to be volunteers in order to promote the education development in the poverty-stricken areas.

On the way back, the Party members and the international students as well as the leaders stationed in the village visited the birthplace of Peng Pai and listened the explanation on the spot. This is the second time for the members of the Party SIE Branch and the international students visited collectively the red-gene inheritance and education base since their visit to “the site of the National Institute of Peasant Movement Established by Mao Zedong ”. The Party members and the international students realized more deeply that Mao Zedong’s great strategic thoughts including “A single spark can start a prairie fire” and “encircling the cities from the rural areas and finally win the victory of the whole country” had decisive function and historic position in the victory of Chinese revolution.
