Dean of School of International Education Delivers the First Ideological and Political Course of the Spring Semester 2024

In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and fulfill the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality in colleges and universities, on the morning of April 3rd, Zhang Yan, Dean of School of  International Education delivered the first ideological and political course of the spring semester 2024 for international students at Room 306, Third Teaching Building, Baiyun Campus, under the theme of "Nurturing Patriotic Sentiments and Telling Good 

Chinese Stories".

Dean Zhang Yan first emphasized the importance and necessity of enhancing the soft power of Chinese culture and the influence of national culture by using examples from daily life as an entry point. She advocated shifting from "borrowing" to "sending", meaning that we should not only actively develop but also export resources, technology, education, and culture to the world, and grasp the international voice. Subsequently, Dean Zhang Yan explained what "Chinese stories" are through her own experiences and the "Three Questions of the Dragon". Finally, she stressed that students should seize the opportunities of the times, take the initiative to undertake the responsibilities of the times, study hard, cultivate excellent skills, improve cross-cultural communication abilities, and actively participate in international exchanges.

The content of this ideological and political course was detailed and informative, not only helping students gain a deep understanding of the significance of telling good Chinese stories but also inspiring them to plan for the future. After the class, students expressed that they felt greatly inspired, deeply recognized the significant responsibilities of contemporary young people, and were determined to combine personal development with the future of the country, study hard, and forge ahead.
