◆ INTRODUCTION OF GPNU

Founded in 1957, Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University (GPNU) is an institution of higher education with the right to award both Master and Bachelor Degree. GPNU is located in the central urban area of Guangzhou with convenient transport services. The campus provides students with all kinds of facilities, banks, restaurants, libraries and cafeteria. The School of International Education, GPNU was established in 2004 is one of very few schools in the mainland China offering all courses in English. Currently, the School has one master program in Education, four undergraduate degree programs in International Business, Finance, Business Administration and Computer Science. It also offers Chinese language courses for international students.

Up-till now, over 3000 students from more than 60 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and America have been enrolled and graduated successfully from this School. With over 50 faculty, the school of International Education enjoy excellent reputation in international education.

◆ SPECIAL FEATURES

1.The School of International Education is unique as it is exclusively established for international students. It has an experienced team of instructors and friendly administrative staff. The original unique "snowballing learning" helps international students improve their Chinese quickly.

2.All degree programs (taught in English) are closely matching with the industry, education institution and often get practical support and enjoy good prestige from international job market. The students will get an opportunity of an internship in companies located in Guangdong Province. Job opportunities and career planning guidance are provided to the students through seminars, lectures, field trips, companies/factories visits and job fairs.

3.The School of International Education has rich experience of organizing cultural activities. We have established long-term cooperative relations with Guangdong Provincial Museum, Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King, Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology, Guangzhou Lime plastic Research Institute, Chen Clan Academy Museum etc. Every year, we organize cultural activities for international students to increase their understanding of China and Guangzhou.

◆ CHINESE LANGUAGE PROGRAM      

The Chinese Language Program (non-degree program) is exclusively designed for international students who aim to learn Chinese language. The program has three modules. Students with zero proficiency in Chinese language will be enrolled in Primary Module. Intermediate and Advanced Learning Modules for students who have some foundation in Chinese language.

Major Courses: Basic Chinese, Chinese Listening, Oral Chinese, Chinese Reading and Writing, Chinese Culture. All students enrolled in this program will be awarded course-completion certificates.

◆ BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMS (Taught in English)

INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS AND TRADE

DEGREE AWARDED: Bachelor's degree in Economics

DURATION: 4 years

MAIN COURSES: Basics of Computer Application, Customer Relationship Management, Macroeconomics, Electronic Commerce, Network Marketing, International Enterprise Management, Business English, Business Negotiation, International Marketing, etc.

JOB ORIENTATION: This program is designed to cultivate professional talents with higher cultural quality and innovation, students graduated from this program will have opportunity to run their own companies or work  in international business and multinational enterprises, governmental departments of economics, foreign trade companies and export-oriented enterprises.

◆ MASTER DEGREE PROGRAM (Taught in English)

EDUCATION

DEGREE AWARDED: Master's degree in Education

DURATION: 3 years

MAIN COURSES: Educational Technology, Instructional System Design, Educational Research Methods, Education Evaluation and Supervision, Educational Management, Information Retrieval Skills and Thesis Writing, Curriculum and Teaching Methodology, Vocational and Technical Education.

JOB ORIENTATION: This program is to develop a broad and solid theoretical basis for educational science, students in this program will master modern educational technology and management skills, and will be qualified as high-level professionals in teaching, research and management in the field of education.

◆ TUITION FEE

Note: Fees listed above include medical insurance. If the number of students is not enough for one class, tuition fee will be refunded for any students fail to be enrolled.

  Dormitory Fee: Standard double room (two shared one room): 2750 RMB/half a year, 5500RMB/one year

◆ ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 Requirements for the Master Degree Programs (Taught in English)

1. Bachelor’s degree with equivalent educational background.

2. Qualified transcripts undergraduate study.

3. English as the native language or with good proficiency in English

4. Good health condition (Students will have physical examination at designated hospital before the final admission.)

 Requirements for the Bachelor Degree Programs (Taught in English)

 1. High school graduate or above or with equivalent educational background

 2. English as the native language or with good proficiency in English

 Requirements for the Chinese Language Programs

Interested candidates shall be within the age bracket of 18 - 30 years, with good health condition and without criminal record.

◆ SCHOLARSHIPS  

Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship

This scholarship is set up by Guangdong Government, with the aim of encouraging more outstanding international students to get their Bachelor/Master degree education in Guangdong. 10000 Yuan/year for Bachelor, 20000 Yuan/year for Master.
