Dear Students & Parents,
Nowadays, the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus in Wuhan City in China has aroused great concern over the society. Ever since the outbreak, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council have endeavored to take measures of fighting the virus and making the epidemic under control. General Secretary Xi Jinping has given instructions and Premier Li Keqiang has delivered keynote speeches, guiding the direction and strengthening our confidence in the prevention and control of the epidemic. GPNU has been keeping eye on this issue and now has set up a leading group, held several meetings for research as well as carried out the epidemic prevention and control work in an orderly manner. Since the health and safety of students are the priorities for GPNU, and in order to block the spread of the virus in full measure and better protect ourselves as well as people around us, now we would like to provide several guidance for you to fight with the epidemic:
Firstly, stick to preventing the epidemic in a scientific way by keeping a healthy lifestyle. Stay indoors as much as possible, wear face masks, drink more water and watch our hands frequently; do more physical exercises, get sufficient rest by going to bed early. Avoid gathering with friends. Reduce social visits. Every student is required to report your health conditions to GPNU every single day. If you catch a fever or respiratory tract infection, especially if you get a persistent fever, turn to doctors in designated medical departments to receive an immediate treatment and report to GPNU immediately.
Secondly, keep a social distance. It is advocated that teachers and students DO NOT gather, dine together nor invite guests during the Spring Festival. Wear face masks whenever you have to go out to protect from disease. Never have any close contact with a patient without protection. Report to a local medical institution if you ever come across people with suspected fever. Assist the local governments to better track and control gathering people.
Thirdly, keep a healthy and safe diet. DO NOT eat wild animals. Food like meat and eggs shall be thoroughly cooked. Wash hands frequently when exposed to raw and cooked food. Cutting boards and cutting tools should be separately used for raw and cooked food. Keep away from farmed or wild animals. Reduce the use of electronic devices as much as possible.
Fourthly, Keep your living space clean and develop an awareness of good health. Do Not litter nor spit. Keep living places clean, neat and ventilated. Garbage should be put into designated closed container and leave no sanitary loophole. Pay attention to personal hygiene. Wash hands before eating and after using toilets. Cover mouth when coughing or sneezing. Always wear a face mask for protection when going outside.
Fifthly, keep safe and DO NOT return to GPNU before the university resumes. In view of the current situation about pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus, and in order to block the transmission channel of the disease, students are required NOT to return to GPNU ahead of time. Since January 25, public-service places like GPNU library and study rooms have been reserved for public use until the epidemic is totally in control. Guard management have been strengthened. Vehicles entering GPNU have been strictly controlled. Students and teachers staying in GPNU should show valid documents at entrance.
Last but not the least, we should enhance the sense of responsibility and dispel panic. DO NOT create, spread rumors. Never forward unverified information on the Internet. DO NOT spread panic and be vigilant to any suspicious information.
GPNU is always students-oriented. Health and safety of students are our first priority. The new coronavirus infection pneumonia can be prevented, controllable and treatable. As long as we work together and be well prepared as well as promptly report specific situation, actively seek to medical treatment, we will be able to achieve the final victory.
