Article 1: In order to make teaching management more in accordance with the actual conditions of international students, the following regulations are formulated.
Article 2: The term "international students" as used in these regulations refers to foreign students who do not have Chinese nationality and receiving academic education in the School of International Education of GPNU.
Article 3: These regulations are applicable to the international students who have been enrolled to the bachelor’s program or above. The exempted courses should not be specialized core courses listed in the current training program for the profession. Applicants for any exempted course are required to have completed the course and passed it not by a make-up exam.
Article 4:Application for an exemption from a professional course should follow the following procedures:
1. Provide a certified original document of your complete and official academic transcript of the course by the issuing university.
2. Fill an “Application Form for Exempted Courses” at the Teaching Affairs Office of GPNU School of International Education.
3. A specialized course exemption shall be granted on approval of the school vice dean in charge of teaching and the school dean.
Article 5:Transfer of the exempted course credits may be granted to students in recognition of prior studies completed at an appropriate level as recognized by GPNU. But if the transfer credits are different from the credit units stipulated in the current professional training program of the GPNU, the exempted course credits will be counted toward meeting the credit units required. In case of shorter credit hours, course exemption applicants must complete all the required credit hours before being granted the course credits.
Article 6: Application for an exemption from a language course should follow the following procedures:
1. Provide a HSK Level certificate (score report) issued by the Confucius Institute Headquarters according to the teaching schedule of that semester.
2. Fill an “Application Form for Exempted Courses” at the Teaching Affairs Office.
3. A language course exemption shall be granted on approval of the school vice dean in charge of teaching and the school dean.
Article 7: Exemption course application is processed by semester. For an approved exemption course, the final score of the semester shall be graded 90 points, 4 credits, with the attendance rate for the course to be 100%.
Article8: Exemption does not apply to experimental class, internship, or graduation thesis (design).
Article 9:The provisional regulations shall be interpreted by GPNU School of International Education and shall be implemented since the date of promulgation.
