On the morning of April 23, a team of five members from School of International Education (SIE) of Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University (GPNU), including Hui Yanyan, dean of SIE, Zeng Jiajing, vice dean of SIE and officials in charge of enrollment and educational administration from SIE’s Office of Party and Government Affairs, went to the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and International College, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), for exchange and study, in order to promote the education internationalization of GPNU, improve the quality of international education of the Chinese language, explore the development path of international education and enhance the understanding between and communication with peer colleges and universities.

At GDUFS’ Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Jiao Fangtai, vice president of GDUFS, Yi Zongyong, deputy director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Zhong Risheng, deputy director of the Office of Confucius Institute, carried out discussions and exchanges with the visitors from our university. At the meeting, Jiao Fangtai warmly welcomed the visitors and introduced the overall situation of GDUFS’ work on international exchange and cooperation. Yi Zongyong and Zhong Risheng specifically introduced the development circumstance of the five Confucius Institutes (Classrooms) GDUFS has set up overseas and the relevant policies and formalities of applying for and setting up Confucius Institutes (Classrooms).

Also, Hui Yanyan and the team visited GDUFS’ International College and had an informal discussion there with the college’s dean Cai Hong, vice deans Wu Yan and Liu Ming, and relevant administrative staffers. The attendees exchanged and shared experience and knowledge adequately surrounding the quality control, enrollment management, faculty, curriculum design and student source structure, etc., of foreign students' education, and then discussed other affairs such as the management of and the scholarship for foreign students.

This exchange and study activity, as a good platform for communication between the two universities, was of great significance for SIE to continuously improve and perfect student management and also provided a reference for SIE’s future cooperation with other peer colleges and universities.
