In order to promote Chinese character culture and enhance the Chinese character writing skills of international students, the "Elegance of Poetry, Conveyance Through Pen Tips" International Students Chinese Character Writing Competition was successfully held on July 9 in Room 705, Building 1, East Campus of Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University. The event was co-organized by the Guangzhou Federation of Social Science Circles and Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University (Lingnan Culture Multimodal International Communication Base), and was one of the thematic series activities of the "Widely Known" Social Science Academy initiated by the Guangzhou Federation of Social Science Circles.

The competition attracted over 30 international students from 15 countries and regions. Participants were divided into beginner and intermediate groups based on their Chinese proficiency levels. The competition format involved timed copying of ancient poems, during which the students focused intently, using their pens as bridges to meticulously capture the artistic charm of Chinese characters. After strict evaluation by the judging panel, winners were selected for the Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, and Excellence Awards.
After the competition, participants unanimously expressed that they had gained immensely from the experience. They shared that through copying ancient poems, they were able to appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters and the profundity of Chinese culture. Yana (RADNAEVA SAIANA), a First Prize winner, could not contain her excitement: "To me, Chinese characters are like beautiful paintings! This competition allowed me to focus more attentively on every stroke, and it made me deeply fall in love with this intelligent form of writing art."

This competition not only provided a platform for international students to showcase their achievements in learning Chinese characters but also planted seeds of culture in the hearts of these students from abroad. It allowed the Eastern wisdom carried by Chinese characters to bloom with enduring brilliance under the pens of global youth. In the future, the college will continue to organize more Chinese language and cultural activities, helping international students become proficient in Chinese and well-versed in Chinese culture, thereby fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding and contributing to the cultivation of international talents who understand and befriend China.
