On the afternoon of May 27, the Lingnan Culture Multimodal International Communication Base organized a study tour for Chinese and international students to the Guangzhou Fushan Circular Economy Industrial Park, combining on-site visits with cultural experiences. The event was co-organized by the School of International Education of Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University (Lingnan Culture Multimodal Social Science Popularization Base) and was part of the "Widely Known" Social Science Academy thematic study tour series initiated by the Guangzhou Federation of Social Science Circles.

During the visit, staff from the Environmental Protection Science Education Center of Fushan Circular Economy Industrial Park provided detailed explanations of the park’s operational mechanisms and philosophy. Mr. Zeng Jiajin, the team leader, offered simultaneous translation for the international students. The students explored various sections, including the waste sorting science popularization area, power plant introduction zone, project exhibition area, enterprise introduction zone, and interactive experience zone. Through this, they gained insights into the park’s overall layout and operational model, while also witnessing the practical implementation of environmental protection concepts in daily management.

The Fushan Circular Economy Industrial Park is a key modern waste treatment facility in Guangzhou, embodying the philosophy of "Cloudy Mountains, Pearl River Waters, an Environmental Pearl." It utilizes advanced technology to achieve resource recycling. Lingnan culture has long emphasized "practicality and applicability," highlighting the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature. The park’s transformation of waste treatment facilities into ecological landscapes and a national-level eco-tourism destination reflects the innovation and continuation of this traditional concept in contemporary times.

In the interactive experience zone, students engaged in games and watched educational cartoons, making it easy to learn about waste sorting, waste-to-energy incineration, and resource recovery. The immersive and entertaining science popularization experience provided practical environmental knowledge. Finally, the teachers and students ascended to the observation deck at 262.5 meters, overlooking the entire circular economy industrial park. This offered a tangible understanding of the green development concept that "waste can be transformed into resources."

This activity was not only an on-site learning experience in environmental technology but also a valuable opportunity for cross-cultural exchange. The innovative spirit, pragmatic attitude, and open-mindedness inherent in Lingnan culture offer valuable local insights for global sustainable development. Both Chinese and international students expressed eagerness to participate in similar study tours in the future, promoting mutual learning among civilizations and fostering mutual understanding and growth among youth from diverse cultural backgrounds.
